A Little Bit About Paul Stephens |
Paul Stephens has over forty years of piano teaching experience. His music degrees are from the University of Missouri at Kansas City (B.M. in Piano Performance) and Ball State University (M.M. in Piano Performance) with additional studies at The Cleveland Institute of Music and Northeast Missouri State University. His piano studies were with Jerzy Gajek, Michel Bourgeot, EunicePodis, Frederic Kirchberger, Thomas Higgins and Walter Cook. He has served as Director of the Preparatory Music Program at Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University), and has served on the faculties of Northeast Missouri State University and William Jewell College. He has also served as church organist and piano accompanist. He has been active as an adjudicator and clinician in Missouri and Kansas. Mr. Stephens' interest in piano teaching has led him to seek out methods of teaching that are the most progressive and effective. He has also created several hundred MIDI file accompaniments for elementary method book pieces to make them more interesting and fun. In his teaching, his goal is to offer a well rounded music education to each student that will serve them in many areas of their lives. |
